<p>In the provided image encoding device, an image size-reduction unit (201) reduces the size of a macroblock image and outputs a size-reduced image. A prediction-image transformation/quantization unit (202) performs a frequency transformation on the size-reduced image, quantizes said image, and outputs first intra prediction data. A prediction-image reverse-quantization/reverse-transformation unit (203) performs reverse quantization and a reverse frequency transformation on the first intra prediction data and outputs a locally-decoded prediction image. A prediction-image enlargement unit (204) enlarges the locally-decoded prediction image to generate a first intra prediction image. An original-image difference computation unit (102) outputs a differential image representing the difference between the macroblock image and the first intra prediction image. A difference transformation/quantization unit (103) performs a frequency transformation on the differential image, quantizes said image, and outputs transformation coefficients. An entropy encoding unit (104) performs entropy encoding on the first intra prediction data and the transformation coefficients, outputting a bitstream.</p> |
