The system has a circular magnet (16) arranged on an upper part of a sliding door (2) and slidably movable with respect to the door along a direction perpendicular to a door movement direction. Another circular magnet (26) is placed on a structure, so that the former magnet is attracted by the latter magnet so as to be moved from a lower retraction position to a raised position and stuck with the latter magnet when a closing position of the door approaches, to define the closing position of the door. Washers are made of dampening material e.g. silicone, and arranged on the respective magnets. The structure defines an opening to be closed by the door.
