<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arbitrarily set the opened/closed state of a door without the need for complicated operation. <P>SOLUTION: The door holding device which is applicable to a vehicle having a back door D opened with respect to a vehicle body B by releasing the engaged state of a latch device LA and a striker rod SR by an operation of an electric actuator MA includes: a first engaging member 20 which is arranged in a device body 10 in such a manner as to be engaged with the latch device LA; and a second engaging member 30 which is movably arranged in the device body 10 in such a manner as to move between an engaging position and a releasing position, can be engaged with the striker rod SR when arranged in the engaging position, and can be released from the state engaging with the striker rod SR when arranged in the releasing position from the state engaging with the striker rod SR.
