<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal such as a cellular-phone which can reduce a possibility of lighting up an illumination part and consuming power by incorrect contact to a touchpad. <P>SOLUTION: The portable terminal includes a touchpad and the illumination part for illuminating the touchpad, wherein when the illumination part is turned off, if contact with any range on the touchpad is detected, then after the detection, it is determined whether the number of ranges touched on the touchpad within a first amount of time is greater than or equal to a predetermined number, and if a negative determination is made, the illumination part is turned on, and if a positive determination is made, the illumination part is not turned on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
