PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator superior in heat resistance, shutdown function, and sliding performance. SOLUTION: The separator for nonaqueous secondary battery is provided with a polyolefin porous base material and a heat resistant porous layer containing a heat resistant resin which is coated on a single face or both faces of the base material.
