PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator which makes it easy to correct a frequency shift caused by temperature fluctuation, achieves a highly stable oscillation state at a selected oscillation frequency, and reduces a phase noise. SOLUTION: The crystal oscillator provides a reference signal to a system device processing unit, and has a configuration including: an at least third overtone crystal vibrator 11; an oscillation circuit 12 which is connected to the crystal vibrator 11 and outputs the oscillation frequency to the system device processing unit 2; a memory 17 which memorizes information of a frequency dividing ratio for variably dividing the oscillation frequency from the oscillation circuit 12; and a variable frequency divider which is installed between the oscillation circuit 12 and the system device processing unit 2, and divides the oscillation frequency from the oscillation circuit in accordance with information of the frequency dividing ratio from the memory 17.
