<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide modulation of telomere-initiated cell signaling transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the use of modulators of Mre 11, tankyrase, the DNA damage pathway and MRN complex formation for protecting mammals from failure of growth arrest, apoptosis or proliferative senescence. A method for screening modulators of the Mre 11 disclosed in the invention comprises the following steps: (a) a step of contacting candidate modulators with the Mre 11 in vitro in the presence of nucleic acid substrates to the Mre 11; and (b) a step of comparing with comparison by measuring hydrolysis of the substrates and identifying the modulators by changing the hydrolysis of the substrates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
