PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide-microstrip line converter in which impedance mismatch is remedied, dependency of a back short length upon an effective wavelengthλ<SB>g</SB>is reduced, and which is easily manufactured, and to provide a method of manufacturing the waveguide-microstrip line converter. SOLUTION: In the waveguide-microstrip line converter which mutually converts a transmission mode between a waveguide and a microstrip line, a projecting opening 3b is formed in a ground conductor forming a back short part.
