PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which enables more accurate detection of the rotational angle of a rotor. SOLUTION: An ECU for calculating the rotational angle of a rotor at a predetermined period calculates a phase differenceΔTAB, between detection timing of a first rotation angle sensor and detection timing of a second rotation angle sensor at each calculation of the rotation angle of the rotor (S603); calculates detection rotation angles, namely, the rotation angles, when the first and second rotational angle sensors detect rotation anglesθA andθB of the first and second follower gears, based on the detection results of the first and second rotation angle sensors (S602); corrects the rotation angle of one of the first and second follower gears, based on the phase differenceΔTAB (S609); and computes a rotation angleϕof the rotor, based on the corrected rotation angle of the first follower gear and that of the other follower gear (S613).
