PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which a housing is hardly degraded, even when it is exposed to ultraviolet ray, or it is exposed to environment where organic solvent disperse. SOLUTION: The image display device includes the image display panel 1 and the housing 2 for accommodating the image display panel 1. An image display window 20 is provided in the housing 2 so that a screen 10 of the image display panel 1 may be viewable from outside. Here, in an outer circumferential face of the housing 2, a coating film with higher weather resistance and contamination resistance than those with the housing 2 is formed.
