PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling method of a transmission belt in a belt type continuously variable transmission for a vehicle which can enhance durability of the transmission belt. SOLUTION: The assembling method includes an element assembling process P2 for moving a side edge 14aa of the assembling portion 14a to the inner peripheral side of an assembling portion 16b to reduce the entire width dimensions B of the first ring 14 and second ring 16 by locally pressing an assembling portion 14a of a first ring 14 onto a base 18a side than to an assembling portion 16a of a second ring 16 through the utilization of a pressing tool 34. The assembling portion 14a is not required to be locally pressed to the base 18a side through the medium of an engagement protrusion 18c of an element 18 abutted on an outer peripheral surface 20 of the assembling portion 14a, for instance, so that the interference between an angle on an inner peripheral side of the engagement protrusion 18c and an outer peripheral surface 20 of the first ring 14 is suppressed. As a result, the deterioration of durability of the transmission belt 10 due to damage of the outer peripheral surface 20 of the first ring 14 can be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
