PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat knitting machine which can feed yarn stably and increase the degree of freedom in selecting yarn carrier. SOLUTION: Even when the tips of yarn feeding mouths 5Ax-Ey of yarn carriers 6Ax-6Ey disposed at all tracks 14Ax-14Ey of five rails 4A-4E are supposed to reach a yarn feeding position 5a, a whole part of the yarn feeding mouths 5Ax-5Ey stays inside a sector region 11 which is provided beforehand as a space near the yarn feeding position 5a. Even when the increase in the number of the rails 4A-4E to five increases the degree of freedom in selecting the yarn carriers 6Ax-6Ey, yarn can be fed stably to hooks of knitting needles 10x and 10y advancing from yarn feeding mouths 5Ax-5Ey to a mouth part 3.
