PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a risk in a conventional semiconductor device applied to an inverter, the risk that a loss due to the forward voltage of a diode might become large in circulating a reflux current from an induced load by a parasitic diode, and to solve the problem wherein the control becomes complicated and the cost increases because it is necessary to drive two gate terminals in case that a bidirectional device is applied.
SOLUTION: This driving method is applied to a bidirectional switch 1 with four operation modes by being equipped with the first gate terminal 2, the second gate terminal 3, the first source terminal 4, and the second source terminal 5 and switching on or switching off the first gate terminal 2 and the second gate terminal 3. A power converting circuit is achieved in a simple circuit configuration and at a low cost by reducing a diode loss and reducing two gate signals, while securing a path for letting a reflux current flow by controlling either the first gate terminal 2 or the second gate terminal 3 to be always ON.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
