PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pack battery and a charging system wherein secondary batteries are safely charged by reliably notifying a charger of information required to safely charge the secondary batteries, and moreover the secondary batteries are safely charged even if an old type charger is used which detects a battery temperature for charge and control. SOLUTION: According to the terminal voltages and the temperatures of the secondary batteries, charging conditions for safely charging the secondary batteries are divided into four steps, and control voltages having voltage levels different in four steps from each other are selectively output to the charger. In particular, according to the combination between a voltage region where the terminal voltages of the secondary batteries are pre-divided into three steps, and a temperature region where the temperature region charging the secondary batteries is pre-divided into two steps, one of the four preset charging conditions is selected in accordance with the terminal voltages and the temperatures of the secondary batteries.
