PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray imaging apparatus which detects that a subject is not set in an imaging table conforming to an operative procedure after the change to reliably prevent false X-ray imaging when the operative procedure is changed. SOLUTION: The X-ray imaging apparatus includes an imaging table for an upright position which is equipped with a first X-ray detecting unit 41 for photographing the subject in a standing state, an imaging table for a supine position which is equipped with a second X-ray detecting unit 42 for photographing the subject in a supine state, selection means for selecting the operative procedure between the upright position photographing and the supine position photographing, a first sensor 91 for detecting that the subject is set on the imaging table for an upright position, a second sensor 92 for detecting that the subject is set on the imaging table for a supine position, a warning sound generating unit 82 which warns when the selected operative procedure does not conform to the imaging table where the subject has been set, and a display unit 83.
