PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas usage status determination device capable of determining a gas appliance at the end of use regardless of whether the gas appliance has been determined or not during its use, and a gas usage status determination method. SOLUTION: A gas meter 40 includes: a variation determination part 43b for determining at least one of variations at the end of use which is a rise of a pressure value of gas flowing in a flow passage and a fall of a flow rate value of the gas based on signals from sensors 41, 42; and a gas usage status determination part 43a for determining the gas appliance 10 that is ended in use from a vibration waveform based on the signals obtained from the sensors 41, 42 after the variation at the end of use when the variation at the end of use has been determined by the variation determination part 43b.
