<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a protective coating for preventing the generation of rust, the sticking of foreign matter, or the like without injuring the surface of a roll mold for manufacturing optical film, by a simple method and at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing the protective coating includes at least: an application process for applying a protective coating agent onto the surface of the roll mold for manufacturing optical film while rotating the roll mold; and a drying and curing process for drying and curing the protective coating agent while rotating the roll mold. In the application process and the drying and curing process, the rotation of the roll mold for manufacturing optical film is preferably performed at a rotation speed wherein the uncured protective coating agent does not flow. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
