PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer tube for a multitubular reactor capable of more efficiently heating a material gas. SOLUTION: In the heat transfer tube P having a gas inlet at one end, a gas outlet at the other end, and a catalyst layer C filled with a catalyst between both ends, an interpolation member 10 long in the axial direction is disposed between the gas inlet and the catalyst layer C, and the interpolation member 10 is formed into such a shape that a plate is continued zigzag to have an inclined face 10f to the axial direction while satisfying that a value obtained by dividing an axial projection area by a spacial cross-section of the heat transfer tube P is 0.5-0.7. Heat exchanger effectiveness can be improved while preventing blockage caused by an increase of the flow resistance of a gas due to the insertion of the interpolation member 10, and furthermore, since the flow to a tube wall of the heat transfer tube P is formed by the inclined face, and a material gas BRG and the tube wall can be easily kept into contact with each other, the heat exchanging efficiency can be significantly increased, and a temperature of the material gas BRG can be raised in a short time.
