PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply apparatus that can reduce ripple current over a wide operating range while assuring the control range of voltage conversion ratio. SOLUTION: The power supply apparatus 100 includes a normal converter 110 and a polyphase converter 120 connected in parallel. The polyphase converter 120 has a plurality of chopper circuits 121-1 and 121-2 which are connected in parallel and operate at prescribed phase shifted (180 degrees) timings. The reactors L1 and L2 of the chopper circuits 121-1 and 121-2 are coupled magnetically. A control circuit 120 operates one converter having a relatively small current ripple selectively according to predetermined characteristics of ripple currents for the duty ratios of the normal converter 110 and polyphase converter 120 and based on the ratio of the voltage command value VHr of high voltage side voltage VH and the low voltage side voltage VL.
