PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat exchanger with reduced pressure loss of a fluid and good heat exchanging efficiency, by a simple structure. SOLUTION: An upper heat transfer plate 2 and a lower heat transfer plate 3 adjacent to each other are formed in waveform displaced in a laminating direction. In these plates, intersection points are formed by a plurality of virtual bottom ridge lines 21 representing bottoms of waves of the upper heat transfer plate 2 and extending in a direction different from that of a long side, and a plurality of virtual top ridge lines 22 representing tops of waves of the lower heat transfer plate 3 and extending in a direction different from that of the long side, viewed from the laminating direction, crossing with each other. The bottoms of the waves represented by each of the bottom ridge lines and the tops of the waves represented by each of the top ridge lines come in contact at the intersection points to form connecting points. In the upper heat transfer plate 2 and the lower heat transfer plate 3, a junction point 11 corresponding to an intersection point 23 at an edge closest to an outer peripheral edge 2-3 along the long side, out of the intersection points existing on one bottom ridge line 21, is formed in a position approximately meeting the outer peripheral edge along the long side.
