PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling carriage in an article carrying device without hindering travel on a traveling rail even when receiving rocking of a carrying object support member. SOLUTION: The respective traveling carriages 6 and 6' include a driving means 7 for making the traveling carriages 6 and 6' travel on the traveling rail 3. The respective traveling carriages 6 and 6' have a plurality of wheels 8 in both left-right side parts, for traveling on the traveling rail 3. The plurality of wheels 8 are constituted of a driven wheel 8c and a driving wheel 8b of one wheel independently rotatable by being connected to the driving means 7. The driving wheel 8b of at least one traveling carriage 6 and 6' is arranged in a side part on the opposite side of the driving wheel 8b of the other traveling carriages 6' and 6.
