PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the effect of an inhibitor for inhibiting immunoreaction to the utmost by blocking the binding site with the HBc antibody in an HBc antigen in the immunoassay of the HBc antibody containing competitive immunoassay. SOLUTION: In the immunoassay for measuring a hepatisis B virus core antigen in a biological sample or the antibody thereto using the immunoreaction of the hepatisis B virus core antigen and the antibody thereto, the hepatisis B virus core antigen is pretreated with a protein modifier.
