PURPOSE: A rock bolt and a timbering method using the same are provided to couple a hollow body and an end cap easily and to have excellent binding strength. CONSTITUTION: A rock bolt(100) comprises: a hollow body(110) formed to have a hollow(112) injected with pressure fluid through the front, and pressed to be partially retreated along the peripheral direction and expanded by the pressure fluid supplied to the hollow; an end cap(130) fitted to the outside of the end of the hollow body; and an elastic member for an end cap(150) formed to correspond to the hollow of the pressed hollow body and inserted to the end of the hollow of the pressed hollow body to cover the hollow of the pressed hollow body.
