PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crankshaft capable of shortening an installation length of an engine. SOLUTION: The crankshaft (10) for an internal combustion engine, especially for a diesel engine for a ship, includes a crankshaft journal (11) for bearing the crankshaft in a crankcase, a crank pin for supporting a connecting rod bearing, a crank arm (12) for connecting the crankshaft journal and the crank pin, and a counter weight (13) arranged in the crank arm so as to be opposed to the crank pin for adjusting mass distribution. In the crankshaft, at least one counter weight (13) is supported by the use of at least one spring element (14) with bending elasticity respectively in the individual crank arm (12).
