PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing apparatus that achieves retrieval using additional information even if a user does not know the content of the additional information added to a recorded image. SOLUTION: A system control unit (24) displays the additional information of an image on an LCD display unit (22) when the user selects the image on a list screen. The user selects information to be used as a retrieval key from the displayed information, and instructs the system control unit to retrieve the image.
