PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand towel such as a handkerchief or a towel which can be folded up even by a child on her (his) own and master how to fold up the hand towel. SOLUTION: The hand towel is structured as follows: three folding-up lines 11 are made on a square handkerchief 1 lengthwise and crosswise by equally parting each of the sides of the handkerchief into four to evenly divide the area of the handkerchief into sixteen parts; and the folding-up lines 11 are printed on the handkerchief 1 in broken lines. The handkerchief 1 is folded in along the lines when folded up, and thus can be neatly folded up because the edges thereof mate together. The handkerchief 1 is provided with the folding-up lines 11, and hence even a child, in particular, an infant identifies what portion of the handkerchief 1 she (he) should fold in to fold it up when folding up the handkerchief 1, and can neatly fold up the handkerchief on her (his) own.
