PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swab for collecting a biological specimen, a kit using the swab, and a method for manufacturing the swab. SOLUTION: In the biological specimen collecting swab comprising: a rod 4 and a piloerection body 3, the piloerection body 3 includes a substrate portion 2, and a short fiber portion 1 having a property for absorbing the biological specimen, and the short fiber portion 1 is present as a brush exists on a surface of the substrate portion 2 with the piloerection body 3 fixed to the rod 4 to cause the short fiber portion 1 to be erected on a surface of the rod.
