<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows inside information and image data to be taken out from an apparatus body while securing safety in terms of the security of the inside information and image data, and to provide a log recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a storage part which comprises a non-volatile memory; an external I/F which is configured to allow an external storage medium to be attached to and detached from the external I/F ; and a controller which determines whether to record log in which the inside information of the apparatus is recorded and the image data in the storage part or in the external storage medium, and does not encode the log and the image data when storing them into the storage part, but encodes the log and the image data when storing them into the external storage medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
