PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information equipment device which, when cannot communicate with an authentication device performing user authentication, permits the use of the information equipment device to a user who has been authenticated by the authentication device by using another information equipment device which can communicate with the authentication device and who has been permitted to use the other information equipment device. SOLUTION: A multifunction equipment 10 transmits authentication information input by a log-in operation by a user to an authentication server 11, and when receiving authentication success as the result of user authentication based on the authentication information from the authentication server 11, the multifunction equipment 10 stores the authentication information into the self-equipment. When there is no response from the authentication server 11, the multifunction equipment 10 performs user authentication based on the authentication information stored in the self-equipment. When there is no matched authentication information, the multifunction equipment 10 makes an inquiry about the presence/absence of the authentication information to the other multifunction equipment 10 set as a cooperative device, and performs user authentication cooperatively with the other multifunction equipment 10. When there is any authentication information matched with the other multifunction equipment 10, the authentication of the user is considered to be successful and the user is permitted to use the multifunction equipment 10.
