PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively place the desired optical element of a plurality of optical elements on an optical path, while suppressing an increase in the size of a lens barrel in an outer diameter direction and in an optical axis direction. SOLUTION: An optical filter switching mechanism includes: a base 202 including an opening through which light of an object passes; a cam 203 supported to be turnable around an optical axis with respect to the base 202; a plurality of filter frames 201 having the same number as the number of ND filters 302, arranged on one and the same plane surface orthogonal to the optical axis, supported by the base 202 to be turnable with one ends as respective supporting shafts, and each holding the ND filter 302; and a guide mechanism guiding the plurality of filter frames 201 by the turning of the cam 203 so that the plurality of filter frames 201 are movable between positions where the plurality of filter frames 201 overlap with the opening 301 and retract positions where the plurality of filter frames are retracted from the opening 301 so as not to interfere with each other.
