PURPOSE: A socket assembly for connecting pipes is provided to simplify an assembling work and shorten working hours since an enclosed ring is pressed only by tightening of a joint bolt without tightening a connecting pipe with a screw. CONSTITUTION: A socket assembly for connecting pipes comprises a body(10), a bolt mount, a spike housing(30), a movable member(40), a spike(50), a rubber packing, and support(70). The bolt mount and the spike housing are alternately arranged in the body. The inner surface(31) of the spike housing slopes. The movable member is arranged in the spike housing. The slope(41) of the movable member makes tight contact with the inner surface of the spike housing. The spike is coupled to the movable member. The rubber packing is inserted into the mounting hole(32) of the bottom of the spike housing. The support is coupled to the movable member through the rubber packing.
