<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an image relating to a subject of a key image given as a search condition from a number of stored images. <P>SOLUTION: In a step S22, the key image is input, and the key image is analyzed in a step S23. In a step S24, a person ID corresponding to a face detected in the key image is identified. In a step S25, it is checked whether a selection criterion is a related person image or a similar expression image. When the selection criterion is the related person image, in steps S26 and S27, an image list is generated from a group of images of persons belonging to the same group as a person of the key image. When the selection criterion is similar expression image, in a step S28, the image list is generated from a group of images wherein the person of the key image is photographed with a similar expression.
