PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate mutual connection work of newly laid pipes at low cost. SOLUTION: A connecting member 3 adopted to connect the newly laid pipes 2 to each other includes a pipe fixing member 5 formed of an elastic material and provided in a predetermined position of one surface of a plate 4, and a tapered part 6 formed on the one-side side of the plate 4 and bent to rise at a predetermined angle from the plate surface on the plate surface side provided with the pipe fixing member 5. If the connecting member 3 is provided beforehand in a clearance between the inner surface of an existing pipe 1 and the outer surface of the newly laid pipe 2a on the carry-in opening side of the newly laid pipe 2a carried into the existing pipe 1 first, the newly laid pipe 2b carried in anew is guided coaxially with the newly laid pipe 2a by the tapered part 6, and both newly laid pipes 2a, 2b are smoothly connected. Further, if a water cut-off member 7 is provided beforehand at the end face of the newly laid pipe 2, water cut-off treatment is completed along with connection.
