PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a size and cost without requesting the user for expert knowledge or complicated operation and without the need of special hardware and circuit configuration, and allow an authentication process without the possibility of leakage of information and with high security. SOLUTION: A cellular telephone terminal 1 and a radio communication terminal (e.g., a television receiver 11T) each have an antenna and a communication section for short-range radio communication, an electrically connectable connection terminal 2, and a communication control section. For example, the communication control section of the cellular telephone terminal 1, when the connection terminal 2 is connected to a connection terminal of the other radio communication terminal (11T), performs an authentication process for short-range radio communication between the cellular telephone terminal 1 and the other radio communication terminal (11T) via the connected connection terminal 2, and after completion of the authentication process, begins short-range radio communication via a communication antenna.
