PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus and image display device that facilitates retrieval of images associated with a specific event. SOLUTION: To solve the problem, the image capturing apparatus 100 includes: imaging means 1, 2 that generate image data of a subject; a shooting date and time adding means 7 that adds a shooting date and time to the image data; an input means 6 that inputs a start time, completion time and specific information of the event; a specific information adding means 7 that adds the specific information to the image data with the shooting date and time between the start time and completion time among the image data; a specific information identification means 6 that identifies a piece of specific information among the multiple specific information; and a retrieval means 7 that retrieves the image data to which the identified specific information is added.
