PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system that saves energy more effectively by enabling an image forming apparatus used for printing to be specified according to the state of each of image forming apparatuses. SOLUTION: The image forming system includes a plurality of MFPs and a PC for causing each of the MFPs to carry out a printing job. When information on a printing job is input to the PC, the control section of the PC transmits the information to each MFP (S101). The CPU of the MFP checks the operating state of the MFP, the temperature of a fixing roller, and so on (S103). Based on machine conditions for the MFP and the information on the printing job, the CPU calculates an amount of power consumption required to carry out the printing job (S105). The CPU transmits the calculation result to the PC (S107). The control section of the PC displays the amount of required power consumption, calculated by each MFP (S109).
