PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a channel selection operation when a plurality of pictures are displayed (hereinafter called as multi-display) in a television in which a plurality of programs can be simultaneously watched. SOLUTION: When buttons of a plurality of selected channels are depressed by a user, a remote control unit 122 is notified of the depressed buttons via button detection units 121-1 to 121-n. The remote control unit 122 independently detects a plurality of channel numbers corresponding to the depressed buttons, and detects an input order of them. On the basis of this detection, a remote control signal is transmitted from a remote control signal transmission unit 123 to a television set 100.
