PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a printer so that the processing speed of the printer as a whole is improved and a correction unit can read a correction value from a memory, without being instructed by a CPU, etc. SOLUTION: The printer includes: (A) a head 18 which includes a plurality of nozzles and discharges ink from each nozzle, while moving in a movement direction, so that each nozzle forms a dot row in a unit area in the movement direction, to form an image piece in the unit area; (B) the memory which stores the correction value corresponding to each unit area; and (C) the correction unit 80 which reads the correction value corresponding to the unit area to which input pixel data belongs from the memory and corrects the pixel data on the basis of the correction value read from the memory, to correct the density of the image piece formed in each unit area. (D) The printer prints a print image in such a manner that the image pieces whose densities are corrected are formed side by side; (E) the pixel data are input to the correction unit in the arrangement order of the unit areas; and (F) the correction unit decides the correction value to be read from the memory, on the basis of the number of input pixel data.
