PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical decanter type centrifugal separator with wear of screw blades reduced. SOLUTION: The vertical decanter type centrifugal separator 10 includes an erected cylindrical rotary bowl 11, a screw conveyer 2 arranged concentrically in the rotary bowl 11 and a raw slurry supply pipe 15 supplying a raw slurry into the rotary bowl 11. On the upper surface of screw blades 2b formed on the screw conveyer 2, there is arranged a guide section 2c having a spiral slope inclined to the side of the axis of the screw shaft 2a.
