PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste water treatment method which can easily and inexpensively treat hardly decomposable borofluoride ions contained in waste water. SOLUTION: The treatment method of waste water containing fluorine and boron and containing at least hardly decomposable borofluorides has a decomposition process where a polyvalent metal or its salt is added to the waste water and the pH of the waste water is maintained at 4 or less, and ultraviolet rays are irradiated to the waste water to decompose the hardly decomposable borofluorides.
