<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce particle diameters when a crystalline polyester is prepared in an aqueous dispersion, and to obtain an electrophotographic toner having a little amount of melt sticking during a surface treatment, having high environmental stability of a charging degree and excellent storage stability under pressure. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a binder resin for toner, including the following step 1 to step 4. In a step 1, an alcohol component containing a 2-10C aliphatic diol and a carboxylic acid component containing 8-12C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compounds are subjected to a condensation polymerization reaction, the product is cooled down to 40°C or lower, and heated to a temperature over 40°C and in a range from (the highest endothermic peak temperature (°C)-40°C) to (the highest endothermic peak temperature (°C)-5°C) to obtain a crystalline polyester. In a step 2, an aqueous dispersion liquid containing the crystalline polyester obtained in the step 1 is obtained. In a step 3, the aqueous dispersion liquid containing the crystalline polyester obtained in the step 2 is mixed with an aqueous dispersion liquid containing an amorphous resin, and the mixture is subjected to an aggregation step to obtain an aqueous dispersion liquid of flocculated particles. In a step 4, the aqueous dispersion liquid of aggregated particles obtained in the step 3 is subjected to a uniting step to obtain an aqueous dispersion of united particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
