<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine with little noise and vibration during the feedback operation. <P>SOLUTION: A microcomputer 64 applies sine wave voltage of a prescribed frequency to a DC brushless motor 24 via an invertor circuit 57 to rotationally drive a rotary drum 20. The quantity of phase difference between the phase of the sine wave voltage generated when the DC brushless motor is open-loop driven and the phase of rotor position signals output from hall sensors 63a, 63b and 63c is detected by the microcomputer 64 and stored in a memory 65. The microcomputer 64 corrects the sine wave voltage to be fed to the DC brushless motor 24 based on the quantity of phase difference stored in the memory 65 when the microcomputer 64 feedback controls and drives the DC brushless motor 24 via the invertor circuit 57.
