POLISHING DEVICE FOR TAPERED MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly polish a circumferential surface of a tapered member while reducing the number of components of a polishing device. SOLUTION: The polishing device includes a housing, a driving part, a polishing part provided in the housing and including first and second rollers one of which winds up a first polishing belt extending over a circumferential surface of the tapered member and the other feeds the first polishing belt, and a position fixing part for fixing the position of the housing with respect to an axis of the tapered member. The position fixing part includes a third roller around which the first polishing belt is wound and moving in parallel to a direction where a diameter of the tapered member varies depending on a change in the diameter so that the first polishing belt comes in contact with the circumferential surface of the tapered member on at least half of the circumference and a pair of right and left fixing members respectively moving in directions orthogonal to the moving direction of the third roller in response to the change in the diameter of the tapered member to sandwich the tapered member from both sides in the radial direction.
