PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner whose cost is easily reduced, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A first cylindrical lens 61 and a third cylindrical lens 63 have positive power in sub scanning direction and a second cylindrical lens 62 has negative power in sub scanning direction. Two outer laser luminous fluxes among four laser luminous fluxes emitted from a laser light source are incident with the angle of 0.8°in sub scanning direction, and two inner laser luminous fluxes are incident with the angle of 0.267°in sub scanning direction on the first cylindrical lens 61, respectively. The four laser luminous fluxes intersect with each other in sub scanning direction after passing through the second cylindrical lens 62 and pass through the third cylindrical lens 63. Thereafter, the laser luminous fluxes become a linear laser luminous flux long in a main-scanning direction and is incident on the deflective reflection face of a rotary polygon mirror 26.
