PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for cleaning a charging wire during which a user cannot use an image forming device body and to increase the lives of the charging wire and a cleaning member for cleaning the charging wire, in an image forming device which has a corona electrifier for charging or discharging a charged body, and the cleaning member for cleaning the charging wire of the corona electrifier. SOLUTION: The image forming device 100 has the charging wire 21, is provided with the corona electrifier 2 for charging the charged body 1, and forms an image on a recording material P. The device has the cleaning member 28 which pinches the charging wire and cleans the cleaning wire while moving along the charging wire. Regarding cleaning operations of the cleaning member, it is set that the number of times of cleaning for unit piece of the recording material for cleaning a specific region A of the charging wire by the cleaning member be larger than the number of times of cleaning for the unit piece output from the image forming device for cleaning the entire range of a charging region width W2 of the charging wire by the charging member.
