PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the change of specific gas components, such as vaporized components of toxic materials and ammonia gas generated by decomposition of food materials, and other environments with high precision over a long time, and to record the measurement results with time, so as to check the change with the passage of time in the environment of a sealed space over a long period of time, by use of a gas measuring instrument placed singly within the sealed space. SOLUTION: The gas measuring instrument is constituted of: a body; a gas measuring element in which electrodes are formed so as to hold a quartz piece between them and an organic or inorganic detection thin film adsorbing a specific gas component is provided on the surface of the electrodes; a measuring circuit for impressing a predetermined voltage onto the electrodes, measuring an oscillation frequency of the gas measuring element, and recording the measured oscillation frequency together with the time in a storage means; and a power supply part for supplying power to the measuring circuit. These gas measuring element, measuring circuit, storage means and power supply part are incorporated in the body, and the instrument is placed in a sealed space, whereby the change of specific gas components with the passage of time in the sealed space is recorded in the storage means by the single gas measuring instrument.
