An overhung bearing assembly for a rotary machine comprises a bearing housing 2 supported from the end plate 1 of the machine. The housing contains two bearing elements 3, 4 one at each end thereof and axially spaced by means of a spring 9, which urges the elements on to spherical seatings 5 and 6, within the housing. The spring 9 is located on the bearing elements by co-operation with loose spherical seatings 10, 11. |
