PURPOSE: A power control apparatus and a method thereof are provided to reduce power by cutting off power supplied for an electric device on the basis of set time. CONSTITUTION: An operating information receiving part for each device(210) receives information on device operation from an electric device. The operating information receiving part for each device receives used watt-hour of the electric device from a metering device connected to the electric device. An operating pattern generating part for each device(220) outputs an operating pattern of the electric device on the basis of the received operating information. A device classifying part(230) classifies the kind of electrical device on the basis of the output operating pattern. A power cut-off setup part(250) sets the time for cutting off the power supplied for the electric device on the basis of the kind of electric device.
