<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the steel grade and the diameter of bar steel to be discriminated easily. <P>SOLUTION: The peripheral surface of the deformed bar steel 10 has a plurality of display regions 14A arranged along the axial line of the deformed bar steel 10. On each display region 14A, a steel grade discrimination mark 15A composed of a paint producing a color corresponding to the steel grade and a diameter discrimination mark 16A composed of a paint producing a color corresponding to the diameter are put.
