PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber holder dispensing with a slack processing while simplifying fusion-splicing working of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical fiber holder 1a fixes one optical fiber 20a with an optical fiber fusion-splicing machine when rear ends of the two optical fibers (20, 20a) are spliced with fusion, and has: a structure 10a for fixing a termination processing part for fixing the optical fiber exposing a pair of bare fibers 22 on the rear end side of the termination processing part 21a inserted in a ferrule 23, making box shape being flat upward and downward and having a longitudinal direction before and behind, and being fixed with the termination processing part of the optical fiber positioned on the top face 2 of the box shape; and structures (4, 5) for being engaged with positioning guides (51, 52) formed on the optical fiber fusion-splicing machine on the surface and being mounted at a prescribed position of the optical fiber fusion splicing machine.
